Hi! We are Jennifer & Steve, a husband and wife team that loves to grow and create on our 3.5 acre homestead in North Central Ohio. We are Indiana natives, but transplanted to Ohio via New Mexico in 2009. A year later, we bought a sweet decrepit little farm house that we continue to transform into a place of beauty, tranquility and inspiration. (Secretly we call it the Charm Farm.)
The Common Milkweed idea planted itself in 2007 while living in Santa Fe, NM where we dreamed of working the land, growing food for us and for nature and owning our time.
Now, we've sunk our roots in deep in Ohio and so here we grow with our menagerie of rescued kitties and chickens and hopes and dreams so big you could climb them like a mountain.
Steve loves making beautiful things out of reclaimed, scrap or aged wood. Using old doors, antiques and reclaimed wood he creates sustainable, functional, custom works of art. From Jelly Cupboards to Garden Totes to Funky Antique Tables to Wood Frames, the only limit is what you dream and what kind of junk we find.
Jennifer loves making soap using natural and organic ingredients. She finds inspiration in their home garden and while hiking incredibly diverse natural areas all over the United States. Nature offers such beauty and such bounty and inspiration for her comes easily anywhere outdoors.
Our Life Mission: To grow, create and live in a way that inspires each other and that benefits Mother Earth and her inhabitants.
